Come live, learn, and play in the Everglades for a half day trip or full day trip. Our professional year-round guides will teach you about the flora, fauna, and history of the area, and we teach our customers how to safely navigate on the water .  Keep your eyes peeled for different species of birds, jumping fish, the Everglades famous alligator, and your neighbor for the day the Atlantic Bottlenose dolphin. You may even see the elusive West Indian manatee if you are lucky!

We offer many kayaking eco-tours in Everglades National  Park and Big Cypress Reserve. Treat yourself and join us for either an Express Trip (2 hours), half day trip (3 hours), our popular combo trip (5 hours), or a full day trip (5-6 hours).

We have sit-on-top ocean kayaks that are very comfortable and stable for people of most ages to paddle. We have single and double kayaks for parents with children and those who would like to paddle with someone, and also those who would like to paddle solo. For all trips described above, we offer two types of  guided eco-tours:  a ten thousand island tour and a backcountry mangrove wilderness tour.

On our ten thousand island trip (click for details) we paddle amongst the beautiful mangrove islands of Chokoloskee Bay and out towards the Gulf of Mexico. We have the chance to see different species of herons, egrets, ibis, hawks, white pelicans, osprey, dolphins, and perhaps even the elusive West Indian manatee. The 10,000 islands are rich in history. These islands were once home to the Calusa Indians, pirates, smugglers, trappers, and traders. This trip leaves from the historical Smallwood Store, which was once the only trading post in the area.

On our backcountry mangrove trip (Turner River or East River) we will wind our way through brackish mangrove tunnels that open up to picturesque sawgrass prairies and bays. This trip offers countless passages and tunnels for us to explore. We may encounter alligators, turtles, jumping fish, egrets, herons, ibis, belted kingfishers, and double crested cormorants on this trip.

Our company pioneered the Everglades combo trip. This trip is 2 and 1/2 hours on the backcountry mangrove tour and two and 1/2 hours on the 10,000 island tour. The first half of the trip starts in the morning; then we break for lunch. There are many  wonderful dining establishments in the area in which to have lunch. After lunch we finish up the rest of the trip, or you can wait to go on our sunset trip at no extra charge. The combo trip is a great way to see both freshwater and saltwater environments in one day.

For all of our trips we recommend lots of protection from the sun such as hats, sunglasses, sunblock, water,  and protective footwear.  Whatever trip you choose, Justin and Alli  will make sure you are comfortable and happy.  Remember when you call or email Shurr Adventures, you will be talking to Justin or Alli Shurr, who are the owners and guides of the company. Our goal is to help you and make sure that we “make your vacation.”
