In and surrounding areas for Big Cypress and Everglades National Park
Camping in the surrounding outdoor nature of the Everglades and Big Cypress is a great way to experience the real Florida. This area offers a lot of great camping and R.V. sites for friends, couples, families, and solo travelers. What better way to make memories than by sitting at a cypress log campfire in shorts and a t-shirt or watching the sunset on the Gulf of Mexico with birds flying overhead. There is so much to do in this area if you love the outdoors. Hiking, kayaking, world class fishing, birding, biking and many other activities. The winter months November thru March are the best for camping. With an average of 75 degrees during the day and between 55 and 60 degrees at night the winter months are ideal for camping. People always ask about bugs in the Everglades, and during the winter months they usually aren’t that bad. The best rule of thumb is to check the weather and if there is no breeze it might not be the best for you to camp, if there is a nice breeze and a slight chill in the air the bugs tend to hide. A lot of people think the Everglades is just a buggy swamp with alligators, and while there are swamps and alligators there is much more, such as isolated beaches, cord grass prairie lands, tropical hardwood hammocks, and mangrove islands to name a few. Most of the campgrounds in and around Big Cypress and the Everglades are a reasonable distance from Naples, Marco Island, Fort Myers, and Miami.
This is a great campground centrally located in the Big Cypress park and minutes from Everglade City and Everglades National Park.
